About the event
Join Native Lands Restoration Collaborative and the Kansas Native Seed Team in creating a prairie landscape at Black Jack Battlefield and Nature Park! With a focus on native edible, medicinal, fiber & dye plants, this small prairie will provide long lasting, invaluable resources to the Baldwin community and broader Douglas County communities.
For this event, volunteers will be spreading seeds of many native species including lanceleaf coreopsis, black eyed susans, little bluestem, side oats grama and many more! Join us for this family friendly event that's sure to warm you up, inside and out.
Note: Volunteers will be in winter weather coditions for this event. We will rake the seeds into the soil but please join us even if you can't rake - there's a little something for everyone to do! We'll do our best to supply volunteers with everything needed to enjoy the afternoon!
