About the event
Join us at Blazing Star (1111 Wild Horse Rd, LFK) to walk the prairie and gather native plants that can be used as fiber and dye! We will be joined by Liz Bonny of Harvestry by Hand and Kimberly Comstock, two local fiber artists with passion and expertise in the practice of natural dyeing and working with natural fibers. Some species we may gather and explore include plains coreopsis, rattlesnake master, yarrow, black walnut, butterfly milkweed, thistles, nettles and many more!
Refreshments will be shared. Additionally, there will be the opportunity to purchase and take home goodies. We may experiment with the plants we collect at this event, however you can look forward to another event dedicated to dyeing and creating.
Come prepared to be outdoors including wearing closed-toed shoes and long pants, and bringing sun protection, bug protection and a water bottle.
Please RSVP either on Facebook or via email to email@example.com. ** Rain date is scheduled for Monday, August 28th from 6-8 pm. Check in for updates! We hope to see you there!
